The Huron Carol / Jesous Ahatonhia for harp and voice, Alto range (D-D)
This is Canada's first Christmas carol and probably the first of the New World. It was written in the Huron language (circa1641) to tune of a 16thc. French carol ( Une jeune pucelle/ A Young Maiden) and is known best today in its English version written in 1926 by Canadian poet, J.E Middleton.
The arrangement includes verses in Huron, French and English and is also suitable for flute with harp or piano accompaniment.
